Yamato Nori” was first sold in Japan in 1899 in bottles as a revolutionary ”paste that can be preserved. At the time, the paste was made from boiled rice starch, which spoiled quickly, so it was necessary to make or buy the paste each time it was used. The liquid glue “Arabic Yamato” was launched in 1975. The style of orange cap and amber glue has remained unchanged since its launch. The unique “special sponge cap” allows for an even and smooth application, and the glue dries quickly and has excellent adhesive strength. Those features have not changed since then.

At first, this “Arabic Yamato” did not sell well because the price was higher than that of ordinary “glue” at the time. However, after distributing samples mainly to corporations and government offices, the product’s value was recognized and it quickly gained nationwide recognition. In 2009, the product received the “2009 Good Design Long Life Design Award.

Tape’n’Fusen

Memoc Roll Tape was developed to solve the inconvenience of sticky notes that flutter, peel off, or break, and is a convenient product with wholly adhesives paper tape that can be applied tightly and peeled off cleanly. The tape type with a cutter makes it easy to cut the tape to the desired length.

Since the paper-type “Memoc Roll Tape” was launched in 1992, variations in colors and tape widths have been introduced, followed by the film-type in 2009 and the conveniently portable “Tape’n’Fusen” in 2017. “Tape’n’Fusen” received the ‘2017 Good Design Award ’Good Design Best 100’” and “2017 Good Design Special Award [Design of Production Development] for its design.
